Add Your Latest Pins to Your Blogger Sidebar

Another day another dollar. Well not really. I spent a dollar. At my favorite local grocery store. Fricks

I went into the Schnuck's and saw that sweet potatoes were 49¢ a pound. Got excited, put them in my cart. Walked quickly around the store. Realized I wouldn't buy anything else. Put sweet potatoes back in bin.

At Fricks sweet potatoes were only 29¢ a pound. Sweet! They came home with me. No. Not all of them. I'm saving up for a large muffin tin from Duncan Hines.When I save up four cards full of stickers I get it for free. One of my favorite words for sure.

Foodie Chat:

Breakfast: Smoothie (spinach, blueberries, banana, Smoothie Complete, Navitas Naturals flax powder) Lunch: Homemade mac 'n cheese with whole wheat noodles from Mara's Pasta. The macaroni noodles were so good I enjoyed them plain. Dinner: I stuffed a chicken with onion, apple, and a little butter. On the outside I had a little olive oil, rosemary, thyme, and sage. Roasted it in the oven. For the side we had some corn. You know my disdain for corn but the rest of the family likes it.

Have you noticed my sidebar? I have my latest Pinterest Pins showing up on my blog. Woohoo!

It seemed pretty obvious to me once I realized that your Pinterest page has an RSS feed. It's pretty easy to get to:

http://pinterest.com/Yourusername/feed.rss

So for me it looked like this:

http://pinterest.com/CarliAlice69/feed.rss

But what do you do with this information? Well, you use it in an RSS feed widget. Here's the trick. You have to find the widget that works with the Pinterest RSS feed. Aren't you glad I figured that out for you? Here is the wonderful widget that works! Say real fast five times.

Blastcasta! Step by step:

1. News Source: select Feed Url: and then put in the RSS feed as shown above.

2. Widget Type: Div

3. Size: Free Flow {Do not change this! Your Pins will be of various sizes and could get cut off. The widget works with Blogger and will adjust automatically to the sidebar width}

4. Version: You can decide if you want free or pay. I chose Free.

5. Max Headlines: How many Pins do you want to see at a time? {Remember Pins are different sizes. If you pick 10 and two of those Pins are long rectangles, you're going to have one huge mess on your sidebar}

6. Show Feed Name: You must pick title! Clicking on the picture will not take you to Pinterest. The title will. Yeah, a little glitch but it's better than no Pins at all!

7. Date, Summary, Copyright: That's totally up to you. I only used Summary. It will show whatever cute thing you write in your Pin description box. I better start writing some good stuff!

8. Open Links In: It's not really opening in a new window like I want . The reason I'm okay with it is because you're going to my Pinterest page. Be sure to have a link back to your blog on your Pinterst page.

9. Styling: Style to match your blog. This is where I get my Hex Color Codes

Once you're happy with the look (you can see the preview to the right of the set up) click the Quick Add To Blogger button and it will go to your layout page. Move it to whatever location you like on your page.

I added the words "Click the Pic Title to See on Pinterest" to the widget title header to make it clear how to get there.

So there you have it! It'll take you a lot less time to do this than it took for me to type it up. But that's okay. I luv ya!

Did you get your grocery shopping done today? Are you going to add this widget to your Blogger Blog (leave a link!)? Have you entered the Omega3 Giveaway?

    1. The news source is your Pinterest url. http://pinterest.com/Yourusername/feed.rss Repace the words "Yourusername" with your actual user name.

    1. I'm not sure why it's not working for you. It is for me. But it seems that the Blastcasta website is down right now. That could be the problem.
