2013 Planner (And #Free Blog Planners)

Is it better to write something down just to have a post or to skip a whole bunch of days like I've been doing.  Honestly, I'd rather go with skipping a whole bunch of days than to write crap. I used to write crap and I find myself deleting it or going back and redoing it when I can. Luckily, after tomorrow I have 11 days off from work so I can really do some heavy research, take a needed mental break, and really focus on my first loves -- fitness and blogging. I know it doesn't seem like they are (my first loves, that is) as of late but I promise I'm not lying. Sometimes it's just hard to focus on more than one thing at a time. And work is a priority. Good thing I have a great job!

In anticipation of my fitness, blogging, and cooking fiesta to come I decided that I really needed to have a blogging plan for 2013. I've never had an EC (Editorial Calendar) and it shows. During lunch I did a search for some free blogging planners. Because I love free and I love research. After reviewing quite a few I went with the following:

Erica has two choices but I ultimately went with the calendar view because it has a place to put your monthly stats. Which we all know I'm crazy about tracking. That's why I love seeing notices like this in my inbox:

Yes, that's from today. And yes, I'm kinda bragging. And yes, if you want to know why this is important and how I did it, then I'll tell you. Just let me know.

The thing about this planner is it didn't leave me enough room to think about individual posts so I put a divider in and then added a bunch of these pages:

I like that Carmia took a researchers approach to blogging. Just great. Click here to get yours.

So, if at the end of 2013 I suddenly have the most popular blog ever (and deleted and/or edited all the junk out) we can give Erica and Carmia credit. Who knows, perhaps I'll take everything I like and make my own free Printable for 2014!

Small Talk

If your a blogger do you have an EC? If you are a blog reader, what do you think makes the perfect blog?

  1. I have been struggling so hard to get my blog out there for over a year. I try to post only when I have something to post about, but lots of time I am just studying my life away at school. I have one of the organizational pads of paper titled "my brilliant ideas" in attempt to plan my posts. How DO you get all those followers?!

  3. I've never thought about getting a blog planner, but that's a great idea. I always come up with random thoughts throughout the day that would make interesting blog posts, but having a place to write them down would definitely be a good thing.

    1. Haha! I think I may have to put a post together regarding this. But it's very close to the way I get Twitter followers. http://www.realinto.com/2012/11/10-tips-to-gain-100-twitter-followers.html

  5. I don't have an EC for my blog just one for life. I plan about life recipes/activities so I try to plan what we are going to eat/do based on what's on hand and then schedule it a date to post.

  6. Yes, I do have a blog calendar and I don't know where I would be without it! I tend to try to plan my posts a month out and my calendar makes it VERY handy! I have a calendar style one.
