A TV Star is Born & #WIAW No. 16

As mentioned yesterday in my lack of post post, baby Anna was born yesterday (yes, that's grand baby number 4. No, we don't discuss my age). And guess what...she's already a TV star. Anna and her dad Michael were on the news yesterday. And no, not just because Anna was born in the car. But because her dad delivered her while he was still driving! Okay, more like he caught her but whatev's.

Michael, Ryan (my daughter), and all three kids four and under were piled into the car. Michael is driving down the highway to the hospital. Ryan is screaming. In the back, the children are starting to get upset.

Izzy "Daddy, make mommy stop yelling she's waking up baby Matthew!" Apparently this is what is going through a four year old mind when her mother is screaming loud enough to force the windows to be cracked to let out the sound. I'm not sure if it was because she loves her brother so or because she didn't want to deal with a crying baby but ... Jessi (3) and Matthew (1) are screaming along with Ryan. Must have been a fun car to be in.

About 15 minutes out from the hospital, Ryan says to Michael "she's here". Michael says "what do you mean she's here." He glances over and see's baby Anna about to hit the floorboard. So he reacts. With his right hand he reaches down, grabs the baby, and puts her on Ryan's chest. Without stopping! They wrap the baby in Ryan's pants (because they were right there and all) and Michael thinks to crank up the heat to keep the baby warm.

When they arrive at the hospital, my mom (she lives close) and staff are waiting for the arrival. As they pull up the team gets ready. An orderly throws open the front door. A nurse throws open the back door. Now, you have to keep in mind that these kids are very small like me and my daughter. Nurse pauses and says with a gasp "there are already three babies back here!" LOL Meanwhile, in the front seat, my mom leans over just enough to ask Ryan "Are you okay?" Ryan calmly replies "I'm fine". The three nurses standing there look at each other in amazement. I would have loved to have been at the hospital to see the looks on all these people's faces. Fun! Fun!

What I Ate Wednesday

As if all this excitement is going to keep me from participating in What I Ate Wednesday with Jenn. Please. Or keep me from my workouts. Pphht.

Okay, it did keep me from getting the pictures in. Crud. That's okay. I've got a picture plan.

Given that I was tired and cranky, I don't think I did too terribly bad. I did go over my calorie limit yesterday but seeings how I normally can't get anywhere near enough down I figure I'm okay.

The cobb salad is going to have to be eliminated from my diet. And the bread that goes with it. Even though it takes me all day to eat it that thing is a calorie and fat magnet. Sigh, I'll be relegated to making my own salads. Darn you, Smokehouse Market for making the most irresistible food ever! I love the baguettes they put in with the salads. So yum. And the fact that they make everything with fresh ingredients is really going to make this hard to walk away from. Sigh.

You may have also noticed the chocolate milk. Turns out that is a victory. No not because I think it's all that great for you. But because I was standing in front of the vending machines money in hand. Ready to buy chips and a soda because I was tired and needed a "fix" but I didn't. I walked away. Yes, I have willpower. Most of the time.

Well, I'm still tired and I need to get day 11 in of the 30 Day Shred so I'm going to sign off.

P.S. I know a lot of folks pop over from Jenn's site. Leave a comment. I want to make sure I don't miss you on my visiting list. :)

Small Talk

What is your comfort food when you're tired and need a fix? Know any babies born in cars?
