#FitnessFriday Goes #Fearless

Got involved with a new book yesterday, stayed up late, and totally overslept. It's a good thing this post is mostly done!

I'm getting tired of seeing this pin (different picture every time) with the same workout "prescription" so I've decided to do it and see what happens.

Here's what it says to do. "Do this routine before every shower: 50 jumping jacks, 5 pushups, 20 crunches, 20 mountain climbers, and 30 second plank. I like the idea of doing it before every shower, then it is easier to become part of a routine *wedding workout". Indecently, this is is one of the most popular pins out there but I'm not sure if anyone is actually doing it. Also, I'm pretty sure it was started by a 15 year old on Tumbler. If the experiment works, I'll give the originator accolades, if it does not then I'll go on a mission to stop this pin dead in it's track.

So just for fun, we'll take a monthly picture (oh, yes, and FYI this will be in addition to my regular workouts). I figure it will keep me on track if you all are coming here and actually looking at it. While I may have running as a goal; my bigger goal is to get to 17% body fat. Right now I'm at pudgy 26.9%. As taken by my bio scale. No it's not perfect but if the number keeps going down I'm good.

Here's my starting point:

FYI: I don't shower every single day. It's not good for your skin. I'm a tricky...well, you know.

To make sure things are positive here's a picture of my favorite body part this month. My shoulders!

Small Talk:

Will you get fearless and take post progress pictures? Does it still count as pregnancy belly if it's been 17 years? hahaaha! What do you love about your body right now?

  4. I think taking a before picture along with progress photos is a great idea...I keep telling myself to get in the game, but haven't found the right workout yet. Some day.

  6. I totally took progress pictures earlier this year... but I was too scared to post them! haha. And I laughed SO hard at "Does it still count as pregnancy belly if it's been 17 years?" Hahahahahaa, I say it still counts!

  7. Oh my goodness, I'm jealous of my mother! I want your shoulders.
I need to keep getting myself motivated. I think I'll start doing progress pictures for everything. Housecleaning, exercising, etc.

  11. Ha I see those pins too and think how silly, so I guess you can be the guinea pig. My abs have only come back since I started eating clean alongside lifting weights. And I hate mountainclimbers :) I will be following to see what happens. Found you on Saturday ShareFest

    1. Yes, it really does require eating clean but a few extra minutes of exercise won't hurt. Mountainclimbers are fine. Burpees not so much. I would have said no to the whole thing then.

  12. Hi there! Visiting from SITS, I'm tuning in to see if it works. I don't do Pinterest but the pic is HOT! I would be willing to add this to my workout too.

  13. This actually isn't a bad workout and one that can be done at home. I like that there is only 5 pushups, since I am still having issues with my elbow from the push-up challenge I participated in. Can't wait to see if it works.

I agree with the others - you do have great arms.

  14. Oh my gosh, you look amazing!! No way I can do that work out. My best body part right now is my feet, they look really good for a 60-year-old.
