It Says Thirty

It's been a little bit since I've done a Fitness Friday post but in the spirit of moving forward with my 2013 plans, I thought I'd straighten up and fly right. But before we get on with that part of the day, let's discuss Lisa from The Dose of Reality.

Although, I'm a little (okay, a lot) behind on my blog reading I do try to get in at least a few a day. In my email today I saw the words Damn You, Amazon.com.

Hmm, I wonder what that's about. Then I started reading. It was like Lisa had tapped my phone (actually my husbands phone) and listened to every tech conversation with family, ever. You know the expression "It's funny because it's true"? Well, it's funny because it's true. I came home and read the post to the hubs. I had to pick him up off the floor he was laughing so hard.

If you love technology and know someone over sixty, you must read this post. Okay, read it regardless. You'll get a good laugh.

Fitness Friday

The alarm thing lasted one day only. Just wrong. I can't believe I didn't trust my natural instincts. I say as I write this at midnight because I fell asleep at 9:30 pm. I am so exhausted, probably because I'm having such a hard time keeping the calories in.

As of today, err Thursday, I am on day 5 of Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred. I've had it since it first came out but this this is the first time I've committed to doing 30 days in a row. Guess I missed that zero before. No wonder, I didn't get shredded. :-)

I've only gotten in 2.5 miles this week but I'm still committed to doing Thirteen in Twenty Thirteen. Why? Because I'm nutty that way. And it's part of my plan to be fearless. You see, I've always wanted to be a "runner" but don't know how. My upset is how slow I am. But I'm going to stop dwelling on it. As long as I keep seeing the Daily Mile weekly recap go up in miles each week I'll be happy. That's my only goal regarding running in 2013. Just complete more miles, each week. Well, it would also be nice if I could figure out how to change the start date of the week on my Daily Mile widget so it lines up with Fitness Friday.

On Saturday, I'll be running five miles. No ifs, ands, or buts. I'll let you know when I start as I could really use some Twitter support.

  4. I did 2 5ks last year so I want to double that for sure this year. I totally have 30 day shred, laying around catching dust at home, or being drooled upon by the one year old. I need to do it! Off to check out the post!

  5. Oh, Carla! I can't tell you how flattered I am that you like the post from yesterday and could relate to it. It was so sweet of you to share it here!! Thank you SO MUCH!! I literally let our a SQUEE right in the Target parking lot when Ashley called and told me. Luckily my daughter is used to such things and didn't bat an eye, but the lady getting out of the car next to mind seemed positively disturbed.

And I continue to be inspired by you and your dedication to fitness. I am hoping it rubs of on me. You even missed Big Bang Theory for your run last night??!! I bow down!!

    Thank you again!! ---Lisa

  7. I can't wait until Winter is over so I can start running again. Right now it's freezing and we get the worst pollution in the winter so they actually have warnings about exercising outdoors. I'm reading a book from on my favorite runners, Scott Jurek. It's called Eat & Run and now I am just dying to get out there.

Instead I've been playing the Just Dance game on Wii and I am completely addicted. Luckily redbox has the games!

  8. You have me so inspired I am thinking about a taking a tiny step to start exercising. I have 3 exercises I can do for 20 reps each that pretty much work most of the body and give a little cardio. I have to start small or this will never work and I have to get rid of my current bronchitis, but I am mentally ready to get going. Thanks for the inspiration.
