Excerpt
This book is the fifth Chronicle of Hugh de Singleton: Surgeon, Bailiff, and part time Detective. Set in 1367, de Singleton lives on the land of the Lord where he leads a tranquil life. However, things take a sharp turn when a beaten and dying man is found at St. Andrew's Chapel. Oddly, an ancient coin is found in the man's mouth before burial. Master Hugh, true to his nature, begins to search for the coins origin.
Wow! Where has this author, Mel Starr, been all this time? I
am shocked that this book is not on the New York Times Bestseller List. This is a wonderful tale
that has as its backdrop Medieval England. This book is so interesting yet
easily readable, that even though you know who “Dunn it” you are mesmerized on
Starr’s take on the history and will continue reading to the fascinating end.
Small Talk
Have you read any of Mel Starr's books? What is the last historical fiction you read?
I received this book free from the publisher

Sounds good! I think the last one I read was Mary, about Mary Todd Lincoln. Although maybe that wasn't fiction.
ReplyDeleteWish I had more time to read! But school is taking over for now..
ReplyDeleteMy mother is obsessed with detective books. I will have to see if she has read these.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like my kind of read. I'm going to have to check this one out.
