Waking Up Married

This morning I did something I never do. I set an alarm to wake me up. After eleven days off I just didn't want to take the chance of waking up ten minutes after I start. Especially when I live 45 minutes away.

I had it set for 5:30 am so I could do day 4 of the 30 Day Shred. When it went off, I reached over to Jeffrey the Cat (who is normally up and meowing at me by now) so we could get up and start the day. Instead of getting up and doing his morning stretch, he rolled over so I could rub his belly. We slept until six.

No worries, as soon as I walked in the door after work, I completed day 4. On the day that you're reading this, I hope I'm not as lazy because I need to get a run and some Pilates in after work. FYI: I update the bottom of the post as I get the workout done. A new 2013 fearless thing. :-)

It's getting close to the weekend so I thought I'd suggest some weekend reading. This is different than what I usually read but boooy was it good. FYI, if you love to read and blog about it, you seriously need to check out NetGalley. It's awesome, meets books, meets bloggers, meets publishers, meets awesome. Did I mention that it's awesome?

Megan Scott has plans. Self assured, confident, and on the right track; a relationship just wasn't part of the picture. After a bridal shower in Vegas she wakes up with a handsome stranger in her bed. But it turns out he's not a stranger. He's her husband. Conner Reed isn't part of her plan. And he doesn't want a divorce.

It has been twenty years since I read a Harlequin romance. After reading a few I didn't think they were for me. But something about the cover, the description, and the fact that Mira Lyn Kelly is a USA TODAY best selling author intrigued me. And I am so glad it did. My reintroduction to Harlequin could not have been better. I read all 224 pages in one day and am happily looking forward to reading my next KISS collection book.

Waking Up Married is the perfect combination of new romance, angst, flirtiness, and sex (not so much it makes me blush but not so little it left me wondering). While I've never been in Megan's position, I love being swept in a romance that for just a little while makes me feel like a young twenty something. And Kelly made it so easy to be that person. If you love romance with just a little bit of sex and love and....then this is for you.
