I Want to Get #PrettyMuddy

My car is stuck at the end of the driveway. Every once in awhile I go out there and shovel around it in hopes I can at least get back in the garage. I'm sure things would be fine on the road if I could just get out of my subdivision. But at this point I might not know.  A three hour commute to work doesn't sound like something I really want to do.

I'm sure the boys are going to be thrilled when they get up and see the task that lies ahead of them.

I haven't gotten in any running miles this week because I'm so focused on preparing for my first fitness classes. From Saturday - Monday I was putting in four, five, and six hour workouts. I took Tuesday and Wednesday off because I was so exhausted.

However, after talking to the insurance agent, I can't teach Pilates until I get my certification so I'll be teaching a core class twice a week. I've also asked to have it shortened to 1/2 hour. Last night I started making a new class and pretty much kept going until I could barely move. I'll continue to work on it tonight.

I haven't been consistent with my Shower Workout. As easy as it is and as much as I have it memorized, you'd think I'd always remember. So sometimes I do more than one in a day to make up for the missed days. I think it all evens out. My bodyfat is down but I'm not ready to release final numbers until next week. Then I'll do my progress pics. Plus I doubt that it has to do with just the shower workout. :)

So while I'm doing all these workouts I'm thinking that it's great cross training for Pretty Muddy Women's Run. I'd love to go but need to work on sponsors for actually getting there and having a place to stay. Also, I'd love to do this as a group run. There's an event September 7th in Chicago which is totally drivable by me. The hubs is concerned that if I go through with this that I'll be disappointed because it's going to be "all twenty somethings with six pack abs." I told him I didn't think so but he just rolled his eyes. Don't get me wrong, he's very supportive he just knows that I tend to bite off more than I can chew.

From the Pretty Muddy website.
In what world does this not look fun? Climbing, running, and jumping through mud. I love being a grown up kid. It's super awesome! Plus, don't women pay to be put in mud for their skin. See three benefits in one: great skin, good workout, tons of fun. Not to mention, that I'd just love the feeling of accomplishment.

If you'd like to get Pretty Muddy too, go to Pretty Muddy and sign up. Hurry because prices go up after March 1st!

  1. I was wondering how that Pinterest pin workout was going! You're right though, your progress won't be just because of that!
Pretty Muddy looks like a blast!

    1. Wanna run it with me? With both of you we'd have a team. We could call ourselves The Real Dose and then blog about what muddy butts we made of ourselves. ;-)

    1. Me, too! Me, too! I did finally make it to work though. I also can't complain because it was the only major storm we had this year.

  4. I am not a winter person at all!! LOL! and that picture reminds me why? Move to Los Angeles and you won't be dealing with that. :)

The Pretty Muddy run looks so cool! The nearest one to me is in Sacramento and is the day before my 41st b-day. I may have to do that! That sounds like fun.

    1. What a great way to spend your birthday weekend!

Warmer weather would be great but now that I have grandkids I don't see myself moving unless they do.

  5. Can I just say the Pretty Muddy looks so fun! We have a few events like that around here, I haven't ever entered one but one day I'd like to. I think getting a group together would be even more fun than doing something like this solo:)

  6. Winter storm? Yes! I'm so done with winter! I've never run Pretty Muddy but I have run a Mudathlon with my husband and son. We had the BEST time. Mud is hard to run in when you can't stop laughing :)

    1. I bet it was so fun to run with the hubs! I'm sure you are, but be grateful that you and your husband can do things like this together. :-)

  7. Got snow too but it was the sleet mixed in that caused the most problems. Did you get as much sleet as snow too??
A group going on Pretty Muddy sounds fun. Not for me, but sounds right up your alley.

    1. I think the car was really stuck in ice because there wasn't more than six inches of snow. This pic was taken after some shoveling had taken place though.

  8. I was a Chicago Pretty Muddy Ambassador last year! It was fun but not taxing. Very casual and low key. Many walkers. No worries!
