I woke up at 4:00 am this morning and almost had a heart attack. Which, of course, would have meant no RIR post (you like that, I'm all cool and stuff with abbreviations) since I don't pre-plan this one. It's hard when I bookmark so many things and need to narrow it down. Oh, but why did I almost have a heart attack? Because my tablet said 4:00 am Saturday and I thought I forgot to go pick up the big girls from my daughter Ryan's house. Ummmm....yes. I'm supposed to do that at 4:00 pm. I haven't broke the news to the cat yet. Please don't call Jeffrey and tell him.

Blogging
I can read the stuff about Google+ million times but I'm still not quite getting it. I'm really trying to be more active on there but am not real successful yet. However, I do know that being active on Google+ is now totally tied to Google searches so if you want to see your name on the top of the searches you better be playing Google+. Anyway, Melissa over at Serendipity and Spice tries to convince me further to join in on Google+. All I can say is keep the posts coming and maybe I'll figure it out sometime soon.

Jenn over at Peas and Crayons is kind of my hero. She just lets it go. She's so okay with spending time away from her blog without any apologies. So while this is a WIAW post I just have to point out that she has such great posts that she can be gone for weeks at a time and her traffic does not slow down (I know because I get Pinalerts for her). Which just goes to show you why the post on The Ten Commandments of Blogging that I read this week isn't entirely true (and I break tons of those rules myself).
Fitness
Stacia Carlton wrote a guest post over at The Lighter Side about working out with her trainer. She discusses how she may ... or may not....work out while he's on vacation. Do you know what I got from this article, besides a good laugh? Um, how does her trainer make so much money he can go on exotic vacations. No, really, tell me. So here's my shameless plug, if you want a personal trainer please shoot me an email. :) I need a vacation people.
Marathon Mom did a great post this week o the good and bad of treadmill running. Anyone who looks at my Daily Mile posts (or reads the blog for that matter) knows I'm a treadmill runner. Unless it's 70 or warmer, I doubt I'm going outside. She does a great job of showcasing the pros and cons and made me feel that while it's okay for me to do the treadmill, I really should go outside and venture the great outdoors some.
Beauty
Kristiina over at Typical House Cat showed me how to make my own DIY Lip Scrub. And I have all the stuff in my house! Score! Free is my favorite number. :) Plus she has the cutest little pic to go along with it. Photo envy.

Food
Paula at Call Me PMc has got me thinking about Valentine's day. Should I do a nice dinner? Should I not? She has tons of great ideas and recipes to share. I'm thinking I will do something but it will be over next weekend as I just can't do that kind of cooking during the week

Well, that's all I've got for now (although I book marked a ton of other posts). I'm going to eat some breakfast and get my weekend started. Lots of blog writing to do and roller skating with the girls tomorrow.
Small Talk
Do you have a favorite(s) post this week? What are your weekend plans?

So much good stuff! I love Kristiina! I'm going to check out the post from Jenn. I noticed she rarely post other than WIAW, that is awesome. I need to get into pinterest as well. I just couldn't before but now that I have the blog, I guess I better get with the program. I'm right there with you with Google +, but It's a learning curve . I'll keep adding new skills as the blogging days go on:)
ReplyDeletePinterest really does draw a lot of readers. Even if your own things aren't getting pinned.
DeleteI just can't get. Into Google+ either. It took me forever to do facebook.
ReplyDeleteSolo and ensemble contest for our 11year old clarinetist this morning! Muddy trail race tomorrow!
Sounds like a fun weekend! Goid luck to your 11yo!
DeleteThought you'd want to know I always read your blog from my google+ feed. I have to admit I don't quite get the whole circle thing though.
ReplyDeleteOkay, that's interesting. I really don't use my reader either!
DeleteSo somehow when I went to comment and thank you for featuring me, I ended up commenting on the previous post because I am real smart like that. Thank you girl, it means a lot to me.
ReplyDeleteGive Jeffery hugs from me!
You're so welcome! I haven't made the scrub yet after all but next weekend is a three day weekend and it's still on my list.
DeleteI love posts like this that catch me up on all sorts of cool stuff I might have missed. I don't have any Valentine's food plans since it is just me. However, I did buy myself some fun food to cook for that day. I'm going to have roasted potatoes and a pork tenderloin.
ReplyDeleteYour food sounds awesome!
DeleteI love being able to share. Seems silly to keep a great blog post to myself!
I had a friend literally sit down with me and try to show me all the ins and outs of Google+, but I still just don't get it. I know I need to work on it, but I haven't. I can't wait to read the post you linked. Maybe it will inspire me!
