Real Into Reads 5

So last night I went to bed sick to my stomach. I kept wondering how I got the flu when I was only reading about other people having it. Must've been nothing because I'm awake now and ready to workout, blog, and Pin my way to happiness all weekend.

Pilates

Leah Stewart brings a 7 minute Pilates video to give you stronger hips. It is a great workout! I know her whole focus is on Pilates for New Mothers but I think new grandmothers count. Plus don't granma's need to watch their hips? ;)

Strength

Rachel, of Running Rachel, dose something she calls Handstand Friday. She takes pics in various places doing handstands and encourages you o do so also. Now unless she's going to count against the wall I won't be participating anytime soon. I could have someone else take the picture but it will be hard for them to do while holding my feet up. But it's still fun to see how strong she is. Plus she has different cool pics.

Running

I read a post about cross-training over at Running Shoes & Chocolate Mousse. She had great tips on cross training for runners. I love that she included weight training because I've read blogs where runners either seem to be on one side of the weight training fence or the other. Now only if she had some tips for me to stop cross training and actually run.

Sarah at PickyRunner talks about why she doesn't use a Garmin. This whole time I've been thinking that I need to magically come up with money to buy on (or get the Garmin or Garmin like people to send me one) but now I'm not feeling as bad about it. I especially agree with the fact that when you look at how many miles you've gone you look down and think "That's it?!?". I do it on the treadmill all the time.

Food

Lee at Fit Foodie Finds brings 7 homemade nut butter recipes. This is a recipe round up post so there are llinks to others but I just have to say that I must make and eat the Maple Cinnamon Almond Butter. The words alone sound delish.

  1. Thanks for sharing. I have been a bad, way too busy blogger this week so it is good to have some posts I can go back and catch up on.

  2. Great links! The highlight of my week was flying to Montreal to see the Maroon 5 concert. Super fun, although my workouts suffered because of it. :)
