Supermodel YOU

It's Thursday! Do you read on the weekend? Take a little me time? I love me time and reading is one of my favorite ways to do it. So let's get to planning. This one won't be published until April and I was so extremely lucky to get an advanced copy so you can really plan ahead.

Supermodel YOU by Sarah DeAnna

Paperback: 304 pages
Publisher: Hay House (April 1, 2013)
ISBN-10: 140194020X
ISBN-13: 978-1401940201

OMG! You wouldn't think that a book written by a model  would change your life. But it can. Sarah DeAnna subtitled this book Shockingly Healthy Insider Tips to Bring Out Your Inner Supermodel. And she's right. DeAnna explains how models eat (yes, they really do) and are incredibly healthy. And has amazing antidotes to prove it. Things that if you really paid attention you'd realize yourself. But it's much easier to read in the book.

DeAnna introduces the Five Keys to Channeling Your Inner Supermodel and describes how they link back to each other. Self Awareness, Beauty Sleep, De-Stressing, Modercising, and Intuitive Eating. The way Sarah puts everything together you truly understand how models get such amazing bodies and are skealthy. And to boot, she has a twenty day plan to put it into action into your life. I've just stared and I can't wait to see the results!

If I have one complaint it would be the modercising chapter. She does not lift weights and seems firmly against it for a skealthy body. Additionally, she seems to be contradictory in this chapter, stating that most models don't exercise but then rattling off all the things they do. Even the model testimonies in the back of the book seem to indicate that they all workout hard. It just doesn't seem to be a religion. They do what they enjoy when they can and don't sweat it if they miss a day or two.

Regarding intuitive eating, I never truly understood it before but now I'm l fan. Once again, DeAnna explains how to connect everything together which really helps you make changes in your life. From planning ahead to  good cooking she explains how you can eat as much as you want and anything you want as long as you do it with self-awareness.

As mentioned earlier, the book reads well. It's as if Sarah is talking to you and is very conversational. She  is very down to earth and not at all like the preconceived notions you may have about models (especially supermodels). Which I love! The book is well organized and easy to follow. The moment I thought of a question relating to one of her points, it seemed like a short time later she had the answer.

I've begun using this book as a reference. Which is rare for me. I love that I have it on my tablet which makes it easy to get to quickly.

I don't care where you're at in your health journey. This book is for you.

Small Talk:

What are your thoughts on models...how do you perceive them? Are you an intuitive eater?

  1. I think that women should lift for sure I have heard so much about how it is great for your metabolism and your bones and everything. I myself am trying to start lifting twice a week so I don't know how I feel about any book telling women not to lift.
