Real Into Reads 2

@CarliAlice shares the best blog posts of the week!

Have you wondered where I've been? Maybe. Maybe not. That's okay. I gave up on thinking I was going to write some famous blog that has people flocking to my site like moths to a flame a long time ago. It's just too stressful. Instead I'd rather write what I want to write about all the things that I'm Real Into and own the fact that it changes from day to day. I'm eclectic girl. What can I say.

Back to the point. After writing two blog posts that felt forced (despite the fact that I really love those things. Especially Purex Crystals) I decided to re-prioritize for the week. Which has worked out great. I've even gotten plenty of sleep. Until today. Jeffrey just insisted that I get up at 1:30 am to pay attention to him. So now I'm writing my first post for the new week at 3:13 am. So you may be getting my half asleep, rambling voice. Which I may rewrite later. Much like I'm seriously thinking about for the Purex Post so I can give it justice.

But I did have time for a little reading...so here goes my second Real Into Reads.

Pilates

As you know, I'm studying to be a Pilates instructor. So it only makes sense that I'd be researching and studying up. Honestly, it's hard to find Pilates blogs (other than that super popular one that Cassey Ho runs). But I did run across this interesting article on Oprah.com, Is Yoga or Pilates Better for You? I'm not afraid to hear other opinions. Besides, I know the answer. :)

Healthy Eats

I just finished a totally awesome book, Supermodel YOU, by Sarah DeAnna, and it really has me thinking. One of the things it has me thinking about it making sure I'm carrying around the correct snacks and emergency food daily. Which I'm horrible at. However, Jennifer, over at The Fit Fork is not bad at it as she so clearly shows us in her post My Top Five Gym Bags & Purse Snacks.

I'm not sure about you but I always forget which foods to buy organic and which it's okay not to. Since money is tight I need the constant reminder of what I can get by with. Melanie at The 5th Level of Motherhood gave me the list. Thank you!

Blogging

Just because I'm being more relaxed in my blogging approach doesn't mean that I don't want to write the best blog that I can. So I obsessively pour over blogging tips and tricks. One of my favorite places to get those is over at The SITSgirls. Now sometimes I start reading a post and think..."who doesn't know thi"s but if I keep reading I find that hidden gem. That's exactly what happened with How to Share a Link on Facebook & Get Clicks Back To Your Blog. I won't spoil the surprise for you but it has to do with a editing the description box. Oops!

My Life In Pictures

Small Talk

What snacks are in your purse? Are you a SITSgirl? Do you know of any good Pilates blogs?

  1. I really love your Really into reads posts ( I know it's just your 2nd one but fab idea!).

In the beginning of my blog I thought how great it would be to have create a really popular blog that gets lots of reads and comments. But I never realised how much work that involves, it kind of has to be like a job. So at the moment I just have to be satisfied with how things are. I need to improve my writing skills etc too.

I shall check out some of what you've been reading particularly the one about snacks.

Oh and I've done both yoga and pilates, yoga is great and I found it good to help with breathing and relaxing but physically I found Pilates better, because of all the core strength etc. I did feel great doing it but the timings of the class I did didn't suit me any more. I should try and get back to it really. I had just started making a little progress then left.

    Happy sharefest!

    1. Hey Carla! I agree with Kate. It seems that it would be a full time job or else you would have 2 full time jobs! I also like this post as well. I'm new to these parks over here at Real Into, but I liked it all the same. I am doing my first post on "books" next week so I was excited when I saw the title. I have mixed feeling about SITS but I guess I better not get into all. that for someone may blackball me if they read this, lol! I do agree that they have good info though. Have an awesome weekend!

    2. Joi, I understand about SITS. I've often been the same way but once you know who to "hang out with" you can weed out the people who are just using the forum.

Thank you for the nice compliment!

I hope you have a great weekend as well.

    3. Kate, it is soooo much work! And really is a full time job if you're goal is to be popular, make money, etc. I do need extra money but I'm sure there are easier ways for me to make it such as training clients and (soon) teaching pilates classes.

  7. Just discovered your blog via The SITS Girls--love it! How cool you're studying to be a Pilates instructor. I've been following Cassey Ho's workouts for a long time and they've really helped me. Totally agree with you about emergency food too. I've learned that I always need to have extra meals/snacks prepared--otherwise, I end up hitting the office candy bowl. :)

    1. The office candy bowl is on my desk and since I buy the candy that goes in it I buy things I don't like. Keeps me out of it.

  8. Hooray for the decision to write what you want to write! So much more fun that way!
I was *just* telling Ashley I had to look up a list of fruits/veggies and the rank of which you really SHOULD buy organic and which were less important. THANK YOU SO MUCH for this!!! :)

    1. I'm too old to actually remember things. I need constant reminders or something I can print out.

  9. There are no snacks in my purse, but I pack a lunch every single day and it is loaded with not only lunch stuff, but snacks too. Chobani and bars usually Luna.
