Real Into Reads 34

Oh, oh, oh! All the things on my mind this week and ya’ll have been the most wonderful blog readers ever! The support I get out there in this virtual world is ah-mazing! And, yes, I’m excited. No real reason (other than a serious mood swing). I’m still trying to catch (what else is new) in this virtual world. So let’s get down to the nitty-gritty.

Real Into Reads

Holly over at Jack and Sally featured some weight loss bloggers that I’m going to be checking out. Some of them are newer bloggers so they need some blog support. But what brought my attention to the post was she started out saying that “Weight loss bloggers have just kind of taken over Blog Land.” This goes along with a theory I’m working on and while I’m not going to tell you what it is, I’m going to be doing some pop social psychology and will give results in January. Or I could be totally wrong and realize that my little theories have no real basis in reality. But I think I’m right. (FYI: my degree is in psychology but I have minors in sociology and business so this little experiment is on like donkey kong…my statistical analysis skills need a little workout).

I’ve been loving Carly’s post (and it’s not just because of her name. It is). She’s an awesome super personal trainer and as fit as s…I have no clue what has gotten into me this morning. This week she gave us three 15 minute workouts and the reminder that workouts don’t have to be long. Short is good. Check out her post for the other two. Repin or pin her pin. Let’s see it go viral. Pinning is loving and loving is pinning. It’s the new hippie.

Oh, the holiday season! Also known as the holiday spending. Let’s not do too much of that. Kimberly isn’t going to. Check out her post on Holiday Finance 101. Use your coupons. That is all.

I would say that all these young women who are smarter than me tick me off but they are so darn cute. And right. Like Brittnei. She recently wrote on how to find balance as a homemaker. We are all homemakers– some of us full-time, some of us single, some of working…-  so these tips apply to everyone.

Leah over at Leah Inspired taught us how to make Handprint Lions with the kiddo’s little hands. I went so far as to post on Facebook and tag my daughter. Now I’m giving her another reminder. If I don’t see some little handprint lions by Christmas then I may have to do a boycott of the season.

Blogger Opportunity

It’s not too late to join up with Kristy at Runaway Bridal Planner for her Health & Fitness Holiday Giveaway Hop. A lot of other bloggers have already joined and it’s a great way to grow your blog. So hop on over to the hop. No poodle skirts required.

This week I got my FREE Kitchen Aid mixer. I have now decided to make my entire Thanksgiving dinner in it (not really. really).

kitchenaid

I have not used it yet but I’m going to read all the directions and get busy! Now I’m saving up enough points for this Sony Cyber-shot Digital Camera….

Sony Cyber-shot Digital Camera

I am sooo far away from getting it. I’m just hoping I can get enough points before it sells out. I know it’s not a real DSLR but it’s a baby step in the right direction.

Small Talk

What were your favorite reads this week? Do you have a Kitchen Aid mixer? What about a fancy camera?

Thank you so much for sharing! :) I’m a big fan of short workouts, I feel like you push yourself harder when you know you’ve only got a limited time to get it done. Try one and let me know how it goes!!

Will do. I love short workouts also. I do a “shower” workout even though I don’t always do it before I shower. But it’s a great little workout for when I’m short on time.

      You’re welcome!

I still haven’t had time to read the directions since I’m so far behind on blogging but I’m hoping to break it in tomorrow. If not then over the long weekend coming up!

As always, great reads this week!!!
You are making me smile today – you sound so perky!!!
I used to have a kitchen aid mixer – I think I used it 5 times in about that many years so I gave it to a friend.

I do have some kitchen gadgets like that…my juicer for example…but in my experience as soon as I give something like that away I wind up needing it. :)

This one is kind of a step between a DSLR and typical point and shoot so there are no lenses for it. But since I’ll be getting it with points (it may take me a year to get that many) I’m going to be happy with it for sure. Plus my current point and shoot has trouble opening the lens as of late and I have to use my fingers to do so. This one has a 50x zoom so I’m thinking that should be more than enough. :)

I think you know that I have a fancy camera – actually two! Scarlet wrote a letter to Santa asking for a KitchenAid mixer. Kinda warms the heart!
And so nice of you to feature Brittnei. That girl has a lot of good wisdom!

I hope Scarlet gets her mixer! My son (18) loves to bake so he was pretty exited about it. He was making chocolate cake brownies yesterday. I asked if he was using the mixer and he said that he would let me use it first. He’s so sweet!

I still haven’t had the time to break it in. I’m afraid to hurt it! Must be gentle but luckily we don’t have Thanksgiving at my house until Sunday so I have three days to practice before the big day.

I like the way you feature other bloggers. What a nice idea! Also, been keeping up on facebook with your workouts. I’ve slackened up on working out and need to get back with my exercising.

I love doing it, Sharon! Even if I’m busy I try to get in at least five.

Thank you for keeping up with me on Facebook! I like the accountability. If you see me miss more than one day please say something! For me, it’s good to know people are watching.

I do have a Kitchen Aid but I don’t use it all that often. I am, however, addicted to my camera!! I do have a nice DSLR! I enjoy these posts where you feature others…it gives me a chance to expand my horizons. :)

I think this camera will be a nice stepping stone to a DSLR. And it’s my favorite price (FREE) it’ll just take me some time to get those points.

I think my Kitchen Aid mixer will get some use once I break it out. I haven’t had time to read the directions yet.

I love that Kitchen Aid maker I want one in a bright color too one day lol. I love my DSLR I have the first one that came out I am looking to upgrade by mothers day to a newer one.

I was going to get red but I was terrified that I’d hate red one day. Also, we have the house up for sale and if it goes then I don’t want to wind up with a red mixer in an orange kitchen or something as equally as weird.

I’m working my way up to a DSLR. This will be a good starter.

I am so interested in this theory you have related to weight loss bloggers, keen for January to roll around so I can and out what that is! It’s true though, I’ve seen an increase lately in already successful blogs going down a weight loss route too.

I love Kimberly’s article! She is a smart chica! I got a Kitchenaid mixer for my wedding and it is a beautiful pink color. Sadly I never use it because: 1) I don’t bake and 2.) I have no space for it so it takes a year to get it out and set it up! I got my DSLR camera for Xmas last year and love it!

If I had a pink one it would look totally 80s in my house because my kitchen is green. :) We love to bake around here (me and my son) so it will get plenty of use once I read the directions.

One day I hope to work my way up to a DSLR!

Ahh! It was so nice to be mentioned here by you, love! What a nice thing to say! I really just love learning from everyone and then I share all I’ve learned with the world. It means so much that you were touched by that post. :)

I do not have a kitchen aid mixer and I’ve been drooling over them since forever! I love baking and cooking so when I can finally get one, Mr. C will be in baked heaven haha.

As for the Sony cyber shot–it’s a great camera. One of my friends have one, and the pictures are awesome.
